Spring Checklist for Paved Driveways and Parking Lots

16 Copy

Spring officially begins on Sunday, March 20th this year! Winter can be particularly harsh on paved areas. As the snow melts away and the temperatures rise, it’s a good idea to evaluate your paved driveway or paved parking lot.

Consider this Spring Checklist:

  1. Visually inspect the pavement for damage such as cracks and potholes, and properly fix any issues that you discover before they get worse
  2. If it’s been a few years since your driveway or parking lot was sealed, consider putting that on your schedule when the temperatures allow
  3. Clean sand, dirt, leaves and other debris from the entire paved area to help promote longevity of the asphalt
  4. If the asphalt has deteriorated, it may be time to consider asphalt reclaiming which involves pulverizing the damaged asphalt into the sub-base then grading, compacting, and paving over it with a brand-new surface

If you would think your driveway or parking lot may be a good candidate for asphalt reclaiming, please give us a call at 518-584-4340 or fill out the form on our contact page. We are ready to answer all of your asphalt reclaiming and asphalt paving questions.
